Content:

• Introduction to the history of the manufacture processes
• Introduction to various treatment techniques
• Every participant gets an object on which he/she will practice the following treatments removal of tapes, water and pressure sensitive mending of tears with different adhesives
• Mending losses with tracing paper
• Flattening, demonstration of Hard-Soft-Sandwich
• Dyeing of mending paper
• Lining with Japanese paper and starch paste
• Paper pulp application

The main focus of the seminar is to gain an understanding of the several treatment techniques through hands-on working on originals and dummies.
